Donate now and give water!

Welcome to EMAS

In large areas of the world, people have little or no access to clean drinking water. The consequences are well known: Many people fall ill with preventable infections, and child mortality in particular is increased. When access to - distant - water sources is difficult, it is usually mostly women and children who have to fetch water. They then lack this time for other work and for attending school

The individual family wells offer many advantages over the conventional municipal fountains

Time savings for women and children; there is no longer a need to fetch water from distant municipal wells

Hygiene: Household wells enable water to be used for washing hands, cleaning toilets, etc.

Help to self-help: the trained well builders are independent and self-sufficient, but can be advised and trained again if necessary.

Food security: The water from the household well can be used for stockbreeding and garden irrigation.

Less poverty: Cost savings for health problems and additional income from animal husbandry etc. mean that poverty in rural areas decreases.

Sustainability: The families usually have to pay for the (very cheap) well themselves and thus take good care of this valuable property.
